Sankalpa Yoga Tasmania

Community Class


We are curently running a community class in the spirit of seva on the lawns at Peppermint Bay, Woodbridge.

This class is donation based so whatever you can afford,  with all proceeds going to the Asylum Seekers Resource Centre. Class starts at and finishes at, just in time to grab a cuppa or something refreshing from Peppermint Bay or check out the Woodbridge Market.


                                                                           YOGA NIDRA

Experience true relaxation, Suitable for everybody. Nidra is done laying comfortably in Savasana with a light blanket for covering.

Yoga Nidra quietens your mind and releases physical tension in your body. In a state of deep relaxation, your heart beat and breathing slow down, and your body and mind become deeply calm.


Restoritve Yoga is a receptive practice, not an active practice. 

In restorateve Yoga the poses are held from five to twenty minutes, the body is held in  shapes while being supported by bolsters, pillows, blankets and blocks.  the shapes emulate the forms of some more  active poses such as back bend or forward bend, twists or inversions. 

When you are supported in the pose it may open the lungs, release tension in the lower back, shoulders, neck upper back, hips knees, restorative yoga can aid in issues relating to menopause, pms, insomnia, headaches, restoritive yoga is benificial for recovery from injury, illness and emotional issues such as anxiety and depression, in fact restorative yoga can assist in most issues effecting the body and mind.
